Subjectively, I discovered that the GP500 was extremely accurate in grayscale OOTB. I observed a DeltaE value of just 2.3 which is less than the amount visible to the human eye. This is quite good. The Dynamic Contrast feature really added depth to the few night scenes in Life of Pi and the color was stunning as well. Avatar looked very good as well.

These are useful for less-than-ideal installs as they allow you to display a flat image. However, they can affect the image quality. This is a critical aspect to keep in mind. The GP500 produced extremely clean and distinct colors. It also was a fantastic grayscale performer OOTB.
